The New Hampshire Center for Public Interest Journalism is proceeding with its lawsuit seeking the unredacted Exculpatory Evidence Schedule, commonly referred to as the Laurie List, even though the ACLU-NH and the five newspapers that originally joined in the lawsuit have withdrawn from the case.
The New Hampshire Supreme Court sent the case back to Judge Charles Temple in Hillsborough County Superior Court South, saying the list of dishonest police officers is a public document. However, with House Bill 471 now signed into law, the other plaintiffs were satisfied with the compromise that allows officers to contest their inclusion on the list.
Attorney Andru Volinsky, representing the Center for Public Interest Journalism, said, “[T]he legislation strikes the wrong balance between the public’s right to know about the functioning of law enforcement officers and departments where serious misconduct allegations exist versus the privacy of individual officers.” He said an officer on the list could prevent the timely release of his or her information by filing a due process claim, which could take years to resolve. Volinsky also noted that the new law makes keeping the list voluntary.
Commission On Police Misconduct Hears How It’s Done
The Commission To Develop Legislative Recommendations Re: Establishing a State Entity To Receive Complaints of Law Enforcement Officer Misconduct, which has been meeting weekly in preparation for submitting a plan by Nov. 1, heard from the executive director of the Vermont Police Academy on Thursday. A video link allowed Heather Simmons to explain how her organization handles police misconduct.
Also addressing the commission were Lindsay Courtney, executive director of the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification, and Janet Ackerman, a volunteer serving on the Attorney Discipline Office. They described how they handle complaints as further background on ways that police complaints might also be handled.
Next week, the commission will hear from the Sheriffs’ Association and Department of Corrections before discussing their way forward in preparing a recommendation to the legislature.
Subpoenas On Jan. 6 Insurrection
The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection in Washington, D.C., issued its first subpoenas Thursday to four former senior Trump administration officials, including former President Donald Trump’s longest-serving aide and last chief of staff. The committee is seeking documents and depositions from Dan Scavino, Trump’s senior White House aide; former chief of staff Mark Meadows; conservative activist Steve Bannon; and Kash Patel, who was the chief of staff for the acting defense secretary on Jan. 6.
The panel is seeking information about Trump's actions before, during, and after the Capitol riot, and demanding that the records be delivered by Oct. 7. All four witnesses are to appear for closed-door depositions on Oct. 14 and 15.
Trump, in a statement, pledged to fight the subpoenas “on executive privilege and other grounds,” though not every recipient was a White House or administration official.

Newfound School Board SAU4 has lost touch with who they serve. On 09/13/2021 they approved a “new revised reopening plan” making masks mandatory. Then they went and added vaccinations requirements. Only two board members voted against this insane segregationist plan. The PLAN states if a student was in contact with a COVID person the unvaccinated student must quarantine while the vaccinated student may go back to school. This adds fear and causes bullying among the students. Seems to me SB and Superintendent want our entire family’s medical records now, and this is a violation of HIPAA and sounds illegal.
At the last meeting I challenged the Student liaison to take a poll of her fellow students and see if they like wearing a mask or not, if the mask protects them or not, and if they had a choice of wearing a mask or not, would they! All I see are teachers and staff putting fear into the students that they may die or cause someone else to die and that is just irresponsible. Maybe students should never drive a car for one day they may be in an accident and maim or kill someone. Keep in mind, 5 million of 7.5 billion people alive have died, that means you have a .0066667 thousandth of one percent chance of dying because of COVID.
In The Washington Post on 09/15/2021 there was a well written article on natural immunity and how effective it was historically fighting infections, but this obviously does not fit the SB agenda in fear mongering because they never added it to the PLAN or talked about natural immunity.
I could site many studies on masks and their ineffectiveness and let’s face it, hardly anyone (students or adults) wears them correctly, never mind the extra germs and increased CO2 they are breathing in all day long. Is this child abuse, I think so?
Calling all patriots and other liberty and sensible minded folks, you either get involved now or forever lose the kids to a new fear, the fear of everyone around them. Next SB meeting is 9/27 @ 6:30 @ the High School.
We need two common sense people to run for School Board in March, one from Alexandria and one from Bridgewater who will put a stop to this nonsense.
