While, in London, members of the royal family and leaders from around the world, including President Joe Biden Jr., gathered today at Westminster Abbey for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, we in America may be ready to turn to more important news. Yes, it was interesting to read that people queued up for miles along the south bank of the Thames for a glimpse of her coffin while it lay in state at Westminster Hall, but did we really need reports like “The Queen’s Bees Have Been Informed of Her Passing” (Vanity Fair), “Buckingham Palace did not respond to a request for comment about who would now be caring for the dogs” (New York Times), or “It was her duty sitting for photographs — part of what she did” (Vogue).
The press is all over the royal family, but it has been reluctant to cover substantial news that also was controversial, labeling it “disinformation.” We’re thinking of examples of adverse reactions to the coronavirus vaccinations, and to — yes — Hunter Biden’s laptop.
Bad reactions to vaccines do occur, and it is important to take health risks into account when deciding whether to get vaccinated. That does not mean that vaccines are bad, and it does not invalidate the benefits of inoculation, but it is important for all of the facts to be out there.
As for Hunter Biden, there is no indication that his shady deals were criminal, but they do raise questions that the mainstream media have ignored, going so far as to deny there even was a laptop.
