The news seems to get worse every day. Two cheerleaders who opened the wrong car door in a supermarket parking lot were shot. A 65-year-old man killed a 20-year-old woman who had accidentally pulled into his upstate New York driveway. An 84-year-old man shot a 16-year-old boy who mistakenly knocked on his door in Kansas City. A 43-year-old man in South Florida shot at a 19-year-old Instacart delivery driver and his 18-year-old girlfriend who had arrived at the wrong address. Now we learn that 38-year-old Francisco Oropeza killed neighbors ranging in age from eight to 31 after one of them asked him to stop shooting in his yard because a young child was trying to sleep. Two victims’ bodies were draped over the children they were trying to save and who did survive. The shooter was still on the loose.
