We hear it from all sides: We have to ban people who spread misinformation; we need to censor books; we cannot provide vouchers that would allow people to choose where their children go to school because they might choose a religious school; we cannot allow teachers to discuss concepts that might contradict what has been accepted as true, even if that accepted history might be incomplete.
What has happened to the Land of the Free, when freedom to choose how we want to live our lives is under assault from all sides?
This is why so many people have turned away from politics to live life on their own terms and ignore what is happening elsewhere. Yet, in so doing, they are ceding their chance to have a say in what the future will be like.
