Is Non-Enforcement The Answer?

Representative Bob Lynn, a Windham Republican, says that gun control measures would not stop massacres such as the one that killed 21 people inside an elementary school in Texas. “I think the answer to things like this, to the extent there is an answer, … much more involves mental health-type issues than the gun issue, itself,” he said.
Lynn is among the Republican lawmakers in the House and Senate who are supporting a bill that would prohibit state and local law enforcement personnel from enforcing any federal gun laws that are inconsistent with state laws. “The federal government could send out ATF or the FBI or whatever, to enforce that law, but the state enforcement agents would not be able to assist in that,” Lynn said of House Bill 1178.
The bill would restrict local enforcement of potential federal prohibitions on the purchase or ownership of semi-automatic rifles, restrictions on magazine capacity, or rules related to “ghost guns,” which are unserialized guns sold in parts.
F&G Promotes Proper OHRV Use
Captain Mike Eastman, who coordinates off-highway recreational vehicle safety education for the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s Law Enforcement Division, said safe and responsible riding is the goal. He warns that, as the OHRV season gets underway, “Operating an OHRV on private property without landowner permission is by far the most common complaint received by Fish and Game regarding OHRVs. Landowner grievances are where we will be focusing a great deal of our enforcement efforts as the riding season opens, especially over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.”
Unlike other outdoor activities such as hunting or hiking, where participants are allowed on private land unless it is posted to keep people off, riders of motorized vehicles must have written landowner permission to operate on any private land, whether it is posted or not. Local OHRV clubs have establish designated trails with landowner agreements.
Apart from operating off the designated trails, the most frequent complaints are about the noise from illegally modified exhaust and excessive speed.
State law requires all operators 12 years of age and over to have a valid motor vehicle driver’s license or have successfully completed an approved OHRV safety education class in order to operate off their own property.
Thornton Man Rescued On Hiking Trail
Charles Boppe, 74, of Thornton, injured his leg in a fall while hiking near the summit of Welch Mountain in Waterville Valley on May 24, and had to be carried from the trail on a litter. Officials say he was an experienced hiker who had navigated the trail dozens of times in the past.
Two members of the Pemi Valley Search and Rescue Team were hiking on the Welch-Dickey Trail when the 911 call came in shortly before 11 a.m., and they were able to get to the injured hiker within 15 minutes. The Waterville Valley Department of Safety, the Campton-Thornton Fire Department, and Fish and Game conservation officers responded to the trailhead, and the rescue team carried Boppe 1.75 miles down the mountain, arriving at the trailhead at 2:45 p.m.
Boppe went by personal vehicle to obtain further evaluation of his injury.

I agree.
First off, it’s not the gun’s fault, that is only the weapon of choice. It’s the person using the gun.
Second, we have lack of sentencing when having a gun illegally and on many other vicious attacks by people using all sorts of weapons. So, we have a legal justice problem.
Third, is the person’s mental health which leads us down a slippery sloop. Who decides one is mental? This I think we all should have a great concern over. We are all mental in some form or another because of our quirky ways of feelings, how we think, what we believe and how we behave. So, again, who is to say one is mental? This is not an easy answer.
Mental health is all about how one feels, thinks, and behaves. They, whoever they are, are now installing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) into our schools (even in Newfound). They say it’s because of COVID and it is needed and this all sounds spot on because of what we have been through. I’m saying they want to know every aspect of your kid life, not just grades, but how the kids feel, think, and behave. They want to know what makes your child tick and record this knowledge so they can possibly use it in the future in controlling them.
This may (probably will) lead to a social score as like we have heard of being used in China. Like a credit score, the social score will be used to keep you within certain parameters and if you do not fall in line with the parameters you are dinged on your social score and you will not be able to do certain things, whatever those things may be.
So, there are no easy answers, but we have a Bible to read and a God that loves us all and hates evil. We need to be teaching Biblical things to our kids and grandkids ASAP before all hope is lost.
John 3:16 — For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Pray for the families of Texas, they really need it.
